When my parents moved into the lower level of our home, they brought more than just their furniture and memories—they brought their love of creating. Together, we built a woodshop, just like the one I grew up in. What began as a practical space quickly turned into the heart of our home, filled with the hum of tools, the scent of fresh-cut wood, and the spark of inspiration.

Growing up, I spent countless hours in the woodshop with my family. It was a place where ideas came to life—where hands got dusty, and imaginations ran wild. I learned so much in that space: how to be patient, how to pay attention to detail, and how satisfying it is to create something from scratch.

Now, I get to share that same experience with my daughter, Genevieve. Spending time in the shop has become one of our favorite things to do together. We talk about ideas, test out color palettes, and dream up new creations. She brings a fresh perspective, creative energy, and a bold imagination that makes everything feel new again. Watching her find joy in the same things that shaped my childhood is more meaningful than I can put into words.

The woodshop isn’t just about building things—it’s about building relationships, stories, and traditions. It’s about laughter, learning, and sometimes just quietly working side-by-side. At Valley Woodworks, every piece we make carries a bit of that legacy with it.

Here’s to creating together, across generations.

We have;

stories to tell,

memories to make,

and wood to craft.
